Mae competed in policy debate at The Pembroke Hill High School in Kansas City, Missouri for four years, earning the title of Districts Champion and qualifying to NSDA Nationals her senior year. There, she placed as the thirty-sixth team and twenty-fifth speaker in the nation for 2024. In college, she is a Presidential Scholar for Distinguished Achievement in Debate, which allows her to debate full-time at Wake Forest University. In her first year, she was a quarterfinalist at the University of Minnesota College Invitational and a competitor at the American Debate Association National Championship. In her free time, she is an active member of Kappa Delta, participates in Phi Alpha Delta, a pre-law fraternity at Wake Forest University, and enjoys listening to music and reading.
